Person of the Year is an annual issue of the news magazine and website TIME that features and profiles a person, a group, an idea, or an object that "for better or for worse... has done the most to influence the events of the year".


In 2018, TIME chose the Guardians: journalists who faced persecution, arrest or murder for their reporting. Featured were: Jamal Khashoggi, Maria Ressa, Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo, and the staff of The Capital.
